Discover Armenia
Armenia's highland geography is dominated by mountains, with relatively little low ground. The Ishkhanasar peaks and Aramazd form a southern regional focus within that inland landscape, distinct from viewing the entire country through one national high point.
The Lesser Caucasus provides Armenia's wider geographical framework. Inland basins and mountain slopes experience a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, while Lake Sevan occupies a separate highland basin farther north. These southern peaks represent one region within that larger upland country.
