Discover Nepal Three Peaks
Mera Peak, Island Peak and Lobuche East make an ambitious Nepalese mountaineering journey. The three are distinct objectives across the eastern Himalaya: Mera is associated with the Hinku area, while Island Peak and Lobuche East lie within the wider Everest region. Their appeal comes from the scale of the surrounding mountains and the opportunity to experience more than one high-altitude setting.
This is an expedition enquiry involving glacier and summit climbing, not a conventional walking holiday. Time for acclimatisation, specialist support and a carefully chosen sequence is fundamental to the trip. Mera has several summits, so the intended top must be agreed explicitly; the map identifies the named objective rather than a village or base camp. Tell us about your previous mountain experience and the time you can devote to a Nepal expedition.
The mountains
The three summits
Mera Peak — North summit
Mera has several summits in the Hinku area. This marker identifies Mera North, its highest top; the intended expedition summit must be agreed when planning.
Island Peak
Island Peak is also known as Imja Tse. It is a glacier-climbing objective in the Imja valley of Nepal’s Everest region.
Lobuche East
Lobuche East is distinct from Lobuche West and the nearby settlement. The true summit is also separate from the lower fore-summit reached by many climbing parties.
