Discover Aksaray

Hasan Dağı and Melendiz Dağı place this group in central Anatolia's volcanic uplands. The selected high points rise within the elevated Turkish interior, a different setting from the narrower coastal plains and the mountain systems along the country's maritime margins.

Hasan and Melendiz belong to the volcanic landscape around Aksaray and Niğde, near Cappadocia. Their mountain forms rise above the central Anatolian plateau rather than directly from a coastal plain. The surrounding basins and volcanic terrain distinguish this region from the Taurus ranges farther south and the Pontic mountains along the Black Sea.
