Three Peaks challenges in Kuwait
Kuwait occupies low desert country at the head of the Persian Gulf. Slightly undulating ground and coastal geography provide the landscape context, without suggesting an alpine or high mountain destination.
The landscapes of Kuwait
Kuwait occupies low desert country at the head of the Persian Gulf. Its terrain is mainly flat to gently undulating, with broad open horizons rather than a network of high mountain ranges or sharply defined alpine valleys.
The Jal Az-Zor escarpment provides a recognisable break in relief north of Kuwait Bay, but it is not an alpine mountain range. Elsewhere, inland desert and low coastal ground dominate. Offshore islands add another coastal setting, with landforms whose significance lies in their position and shape rather than substantial summit elevation.
