Discover Jeju Three Oreums

Jeju’s oreums are small volcanic landforms that give the island its distinctive skyline. Jeoji Oreum, Gunsan Oreum and Gogeunsan make an engaging trio across the western and southern parts of Jeju, showing that a three-peak journey need not revolve around the island’s highest mountain. Jeoji’s wooded crater contrasts with Gunsan’s coastal outlook and Gogeunsan’s setting above the Seogwipo area.

These places belong to the everyday landscape of the island as well as its volcanic history. Gogeunsan has a shallow summit crater and lies along Jeju Olle Course 7-1, while Gunsan looks out towards the south coast. Enquire about combining the three with time for Jeju’s villages, coastline and food. The final programme should reflect local access arrangements and the particular oreums your group wants to experience.

The mountains

The three summits

  1. Jeoji Oreum

Jeoji Oreum is a wooded volcanic cone in western Jeju. A crater gives the hill its characteristic shape.

  2. Gunsan Oreum

Gunsan Oreum rises above Jeju’s south-western coastal area. It provides a contrasting open outlook to the wooded crater scenery at Jeoji.

  3. Gogeunsan

Gogeunsan is a volcanic cone above the Seogwipo area with a shallow summit crater. It lies along Jeju Olle Course 7-1.
