Discover Uzbekistan
Greater Chimgan and the other selected mountains focus on Uzbekistan's eastern upland edge. This setting contrasts with the country's extensive desert plains and broad river valleys, where most of the land has a much lower and more open character.
Chimgan belongs to the western Tian Shan near the mountain country above Tashkent. The surrounding ranges frame valleys and basins leading into Uzbekistan's more extensive lower landscapes. These selected elevations give the destination an eastern mountain identity, quite different from the broad Kyzylkum desert or the historic oasis regions farther west.
