Discover Cocle

The selected Cerros focus on central Panama's upland terrain. Mountains and broken interior plains contrast with lower coastal country on either side of the isthmus, giving this group a regional setting within the narrow land connection between the Americas.

Coclé's uplands sit within the mountainous interior of the Central American isthmus. The land descends towards coastal plains on both sides, but the interior contains steep slopes and dissected upland surfaces; a tropical maritime climate and prolonged wet season shape this mountain setting.
