Discover Hawke’s Bay Triple Peaks
Hawke’s Bay’s Triple Peaks brings together Kahurānaki, Te Mata Peak and Kōhinurākau, also known as Mount Erin. Their hills rise above the country around Havelock North and the wider Heretaunga area, offering a different New Zealand experience from the high peaks of the Southern Alps. The combination has a local event tradition, with the three named hills forming a recognisable regional challenge.
Te Mata Peak is a prominent landmark above Havelock North, while the other summits connect the journey with the surrounding rural landscape. Kahurānaki is a registered wāhi tapu on private land, and general public access is not available: any itinerary involving it depends on the necessary permissions or authorised event arrangements. Enquire about the Hawke’s Bay experience you have in mind so that access and the appropriate way to visit can be considered from the outset.
