Discover Merida
Bolívar, Espejo and Humboldt occupy Venezuela’s northwestern Andean landscape near Mérida. These named peaks belong to a different highland setting from the southeastern Guiana plateaus, with the central Llanos forming a broad lower region between the country’s principal mountain areas.
The Sierra Nevada de Mérida contains these prominent high peaks above the valleys around Mérida. Bolívar and Espejo occupy a different part of the massif from Humboldt, though all share the Venezuelan Andes setting. Mountain basins and ridges connect their regional geography without making them interchangeable landmarks along one simple crest.
