Discover Ivory Coast

Mount Nimba and the other selected elevations focus on Côte d'Ivoire's western mountain region. This higher border country contrasts with the lower plains and coastal terrain farther south and east, forming a distinct upland setting within the wider West African landscape.

Nimba's border setting connects Côte d'Ivoire's western highlands with Guinea and Liberia. This corner of the country has a different profile from the extensive lower terrain towards the Gulf of Guinea, with individual mountain groups rising above the surrounding tropical interior.
