Discover Michigan

Michigan's Upper Peninsula places its high ground within a landscape dominated by forest and Lake Superior. Mount Arvon and Mount Curwood belong to the inland uplands, while Brockway Nose extends the enquiry onto the Keweenaw Peninsula. This combination highlights a northern Michigan character quite different from the state's lower peninsula.

Arvon and Curwood form the closer pair, with Brockway adding the distinctive shape of the land projecting into Lake Superior. The interest is in the relationship between wooded hills and the immense surrounding lake, rather than in alpine height. The map therefore describes a regional Upper Peninsula journey with separate destinations and changing settings, not a continuous route across three neighbouring summits.
