Ohio Three Peaks Journey
Ohio's hill country and highpoints offer a gentler take on the three peaks idea.

Discover Ohio
Ohio's high ground is varied but generally modest, with individual hills standing out from farmland and wooded country. Campbell Hill, Mount Miserable and Sugarloaf provide three named points for a statewide enquiry. Their scale belongs to the eastern Midwest's uplands, not to a continuous mountain range or a dramatic alpine skyline.
Campbell Hill lies near Bellefontaine and supplies the state highpoint connection. Mount Miserable adds nearby west-central Ohio context, while Sugarloaf adds the hill country near Chillicothe farther south. The separation helps explain the nature of the journey: contrasting parts of Ohio's upland landscape, with the countryside between them forming part of the experience rather than a single linked summit walk.
