Discover Tennessee
Tennessee's selected mountains belong to the Great Smoky Mountains, where forested ridges form the boundary landscape with North Carolina. Kuwohi, Mount Le Conte and Mount Guyot give the enquiry a coherent eastern Tennessee focus. The names represent different parts of the Smokies rather than a collection drawn from all of Tennessee's uplands.
Kuwohi, formerly known as Clingmans Dome, supplies the state highpoint connection. Le Conte stands to its northeast, while Guyot lies farther along the Tennessee and North Carolina boundary. The shared Smokies setting connects these mountains through a landscape of wooded slopes and high ridges, with the valleys around Gatlinburg and the border country giving each part of the journey a different perspective.
