The landscapes of Cabo Verde
Each island has its own outline and relief, so a journey centred on Fogo differs from one exploring the ridges and valleys of another island. Fogo’s volcano is a major landmark, but it does not represent the whole archipelago. Choosing an island first gives a three-peak enquiry a coherent setting and keeps inter-island travel in proportion to time on the ground.
